One way to categorize old-time banjos is by the fingerboard. They come in two flavors: fretted and fretless. I can make your banjo either way. Some require additional materials and time.

- Fretted with 4mm position markers on playing area
- Fretted with 2.5mm side dot position markers
- Fretless with blank playing area
- Fretless with flush frets to the 17th fret
- Brass or Nickel Fretless Plate to 5th, 7th or 9th fret with blank ebony fingerboard. (extra charge)
- Brass or Nickel Fretless Plate to 5th, 7th or 9th fret with flush frets to 17th fret. (extra charge)
