This style ball end shoe was found on late 1870's and early 1800's New York banjos. Probably originally made by Buckbee. I was inspired to make them by E. Hammig banjos that I have seen them on.

These hex shoes were originally made by Lyon and Healy and there would be between 30 and 38 shoes on each of the banjo models that had these shoes. Machined to fit the hook nut E perfectly. Very elegant in numbers.

The butterfly shoes were originally designed for Post and Durkee banjos, a pre-Lyon & Healy design. These are cast from bronze and are milled and tapped post-casting to ensure a perfect fit to the banjo nut. Handmade by a small shop.
